Burning Love Screenplay Contest
Love is in the air and, hopefully, springs from your keyboard as well.
Poe Films proudly sponsors Burning Love Screenplay Contest to discover and promote contemporary screenwriters who bring fresh voices and creative storytelling as Edgar Allan Poe brought to his generation. In collaboration with Poe Film Festival, Inc., dedicated to honoring Poe’s talents and inspiring the next generation of writers, Poe Films is seeking drama and comedy features, shorts and teleplays driven, at least in part, by love in its many forms.
We recognize that Edgar Allan Poe wrote not only macabre thrillers but penned some of the most passionate romantic tales and poems. Poe’s view of love ran the gamut from infatuation to mad obsession. While Poe’s antebellum voice and non-economy of prose unlikely translate to the screenplay form, today’s writers can channel his passion for intrigue, mystery, suspense, and of course LOVE. Whether your genre is drama, comedy, thriller, sci-fi, action, or horror, you’re invited to submit to Burning Love, contest that rewards fresh voices and creative storytelling.
So bring your A-game to your A,B,C-stories. “Burning Love” contest opens in March with winners announced by September 15. Feature length screenplays (80 to 120 pages), short screenplays (up to 40 pages), and pilot teleplays (up to 85 pages) of any genre are accepted. Separate awards will be given for drama/thriller/horror features, romantic comedy features, shorts, and half-hour or hour pilot teleplays.
Win at Poe and languish nevermore.
